Aviation Education Volunteer Counselors
Aviation Education Counselors are trained FAA volunteers who have an interest in sharing their expertise and knowledge of aviation with students, teachers, and the general public. Requests for presenters and speakers may be obtained by written request through the Aviation Education Programs office in your region. Accommodation of requests will depend on availability of volunteer counselor. Contact the Aviation Education Program Manager in your region.

Texas Counselors’ Network
The Texas Counselors' Network consists of regional networks that provide professional development workshops focusing on career counseling for counselors and guidance personnel. Each individual network provides a centralized forum where participants interact as they share information and best practices, while exploring topics of professional interest. In addition, the network serves as a delivery system for state initiatives, such as Tech Prep and legislative updates.

Texas Education Agency (TEA)
TEA is the administrative unit for primary and secondary public education. Under the leadership of the commissioner of education, the TEA:
manages the textbook adoption process;
oversees development of the statewide curriculum;
administers the statewide assessment program;
administers a data collection system on public school students, staff, and finances;
rates school districts under the statewide accountability system;
operates research and information programs;
monitors for compliance with federal guidelines; and
serves as a fiscal agent for the distribution of state and federal funds.
The TEA operational costs are supported by both state and federal funds.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board was created by the Texas Legislature in 1965 to "provide leadership and coordination for the Texas higher education system to achieve excellence for the college education of Texas students."
